Construction work includes the complete gutting of the existing emergency department facility building and then the extensive upgrade works thereto, to leave a fully functional facility. The upgraded emergency department building will be handed over to the hospital for immediate use in treating patients. The existing hospital that surrounds the emergency department building will remain operational at all times and as such, the contractor’s health & safety protocols will be of paramount importance. Access to the hospital for construction activities shall be via the current controlled access points and security procedures.
